Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of others. - Philippians 2:3-4

All are welcome! We meet the 3rd Tuesday of the month at 7:00pm at King of kings. If you have outreach ministry ideas, questions, or would like to join please contact us at: koklcgwoh@gmail.com

Upcoming GWOH Service Opportunities

  • Students who rely on the breakfast and lunch nourishment they receive throughout the school year struggle with hunger during the summer months. Kok will be gathering and assembling breakfast, lunch and dinner foods for homeless families served by the Macomb Intermediate School District.

From April 12 - 30 congregation members can select a $40 breakfast or $50 lunch shopping list to purchase and return groceries by April 30. Lists for a specific selection of healthy food items - along with slips to purchase $25 Jet’s Pizza gift cards - will be available in the church lobby. Your contributions, combined with items purchased from the GWOH budget, will help Kok provide $250 in nourishment to 25 individual families in need.

  • We will host a household goods collection drive May 16 and 17 benefiting Humble Design. Drop offs accepted at Kok from 9am - 2pm on the 16th and noon - 1pm after services on the 17th.

Humble Design changes lives right here in Detroit by custom designing and fully furnishing home interiors - using donations from the community - for individuals, families and veterans emerging from homelessness.

So gather your gently-used kitchen, bath, bed and living room necessities and decor, as well as artwork, toys, games and books for a great cause.

  • We will collect new bath towels for the women and children served by MCREST.

Located in Mt. Clemens, MCREST provides men, women, and children experiencing homelessness with a safe place to stay and the personalized support needed to rebuild their lives. Details to come.

  • King of kings members are invited to a family friendly service event benefiting our neighbors in need from 1 - 3pm Saturday, July 25 at Forgotten Harvest.

Volunteers pack emergency food boxes and re-pack or sort fresh nutritious food. Children must be at least 10 years of age. Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Sign up will be available at Kok closer to the service date.

Forgotten Harvest delivers 144,000 pounds of surplus food per day to local charities five days a week, providing families in need with fresh and nutritious food free of charge.

Forgotten Harvest is located at 15000 Eight Mile W in Oak Park.

  • The fourth Saturday of each month - between 9 - 11am - Kok provides a meal and fellowship to homeless individuals who gather at Grace Episcopal Church in Mt. Clemens for a hot shower through the Wave Project.

Kok volunteers prepare fresh food at home to serve, along with hot coffee and other beverages and snacks stocked by the GWOH committee.

Sign up to help at the welcome center in Kok’s lobby.
